Day 01: AIRPORT / NEGOMBO
You will be warmly welcomed by our representative who will guide you throughout the tour.
After the formalities at the Airport, proceed to your first hotel in Negombo. Once reached, check-in to the hotel and relax.

Day 02: NEGOMBO SIGHTSEEING / MAWANELLA / KANDY
Rise up early and proceed on a sightseeing tour of Negombo and experience the Negombo local fish market.
Negombo is a characteristic fishing town north of Colombo and is a mere 15 km from the international airport. Set amidst lush groves of coconut palms, it breathes the spirit of the sea. Negombo is a gourmet paradise with sea food in plenty. Old – world fishing craft, like the outrigger canoe and the catamaran, bring seer, skipjack, herring, mullet, pomfret and amber jack, while lobster and prawn are caught in the lagoon.

Proceed to Kandy. En-route, stop at a spice garden in Mawanella.
(Negombo to Mawanella: Approx. 2 ½ -3 ½ hrs)
Sri Lanka has always been renowned for its spices. Over 15 different spices call Sri Lanka home and many of them are traded in the international spice market. Cinnamon especially is endemic to Sri Lanka, and highest quality ‘true cinnamon’ can be obtained here. All offer free tours of their gardens with an English-speaking guide who can explain the merits and health properties of herbs, spices and plants including cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, coffee, nutmeg, pepper, cardamom, aloe vera, iriweriya and the henna plant.

Experience a Sri Lankan Ayurvedic head and shoulder massage for 15 minutes and a cup of herbal tea.
Resume your drive to Kandy. (Mawanella to Kandy: Approx. 1- 1 /2 hrs)

Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic at Thevava time
It is located in the royal palace complex which houses the Relic of the tooth of Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhalese kings and is a UNESCO world heritage site partly due to the temple.
Enjoy a cultural show in the evening

Day 03: KANDY / NANUOYA – TRAIN / NUWARA ELIYA
Today after the breakfast, proceed to Kandy Railway Station to catch your train down to Nanu Oya.
Once reached, board the train and enjoy a breathtaking scenic train ride for approximately 3 hours.
Experience the local food on the train.
Your driver will pick you up from Nanu Oya railway station and transfer to the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
En-route, visit a tea factory and plantation for an evergreen tea plucking experience, also enjoy a tea tasting.
Check-in to the hotel and relax.

Day 04: NUWARA ELIYA / HORTON PLAINS / STRAWBERRY FARM
With packed breakfast visit Horton Plains National Park. (Approx. 1hr travel)
Home to more than half of Sri Lanka’s vertebrates, half of the island’s endemic flowering plants and more than 34% of its endemic trees and shrubs, the Horton Plains is a mist shrouded and breathtaking wonder and ideal for trekking, hiking and camping.
Horton Plains is the coolest and windiest place in Sri lanka. It is the destination for nature lovers and
nature researchers alike with its rich biodiversity and consist of ecosystems such as montane evergreen forests,
grasslands, marshy lands and aquatic ecosystem. At an altitude of 2,100 meters above sea level, Horton Plains spreads across over 3,169 hectares of the highest tableland of the island. It also holds an ecological importance of being in Sri Lanka’s most important catchment area of almost all major rivers and containing most of the endemic plants and animals representative of the country’s wet and Montane zones.

Return to Nuwara Eliya and commence a sightseeing tour.
Nuwara Eliya is a mountain station at 1,868 m (6,128 ft) of altitude, in a splendid landscape. The city is particularly well-kept and neat, and the design of the locality exudes an air of “colonial British style”. Nuwara Eliya was built entirely during the 19th century and its architecture mimics that of an English country town, with red-brick walls, country house like hill club and mock-Tudor half-timbering. Blessed with salubrious climate, breathtaking views of valleys, meadows, mountains and greenery; it’s hard to imagine that Nuwara Eliya is only 180 Km from the hot and humid Colombo

Visit a Strawberry Farm and experience picking the strawberries.

Return to the hotel and relax.

Day 05: NUWARA ELIYA / HAKGALA / TISSAMAHARAMA
Today after breakfast, proceed to Hakgala Botanical Gardens via local bus and experience the local bus ride of the island. (Approx. transfer time: 30-45mins)
Hakgala Garden is the exotic pleasure garden where king Ravana kept the depressed Sita, insisting that she will marry him. It was here where the heart-warming meeting took place between her and Hanuman, who brought her Rama’s ring with the news that Rama was looking for her. He offered to carry her back but she refused saying it would be an insult to Rama’s honour if he did so. Part of this majestic garden still exists. It is also said that Hanuman nearly destroyed it in order to prove to Ravana of the forces against him.
Proceed to Tissamaharama. (Approx. 4-5hrs)

En-route, stop at a local roti shop and enjoy the taste of ‘Pol Roti and Lunu Miris’
Continue to proceed to Tissamaharama and check-in to the hotel.

Day 06: TISSAMAHARAMA / YALA SAFARI / UDAWALAWE TRANSIT HOME / UDAWALAWE
With packed breakfast visit Yala National Park and enjoy a Jeep Safari.
The second largest national park in Sri Lanka, Yala is situated in the Southeast part of the island in the dry, semi-arid climate region, bordering the Indian Ocean. The number of mammals recorded at Yala is as high as 44 while it also boasts of one of the highest leopard densities in the world. None other than the majestic Sri Lankan elephant and the leopard take pride of place at this amazing national park.

After breakfast, Visit a ‘Local vegetable market’ and witness the local men selling vegetables in Sri Lankan way.
Enjoy a cup of Sri Lanka‟s favorite dessert “Curd & Treacle”

On completion, Udawalawe Transit Home. (Approx. transfer time: 2-3hrs)
The Udawalawe Elephant Transfer Home is within Udawalawe National Park in Sri Lanka that was established in 1995 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation. Its primary objective is to rehabilitate orphaned elephant calves for ultimate release back into the wild. Although you can’t get up close and personal with the elephants, seeing them at feeding time (from a viewing platform) is still a lot of fun. It’s on the main lakeside road, about 5km west of the Udawalawe National Park entrance.

Day 07: UDAWALAWE / UDAWALAWE SAFARI / GALLE / AMBALANGODA / KOSGODA / BERUWALA
With packed Breakfast visit Udawalawe National Park and indulge on an exciting wild safari.
Udawalawe National Park is located approximately 200 km south-east of Colombo city and is a major eco tourism destination in Sri Lanka. Another important habitat for the elephant (a herd of about 250 is believed to be permanently resident) and a recorded number of 12 amphibian species, 21 species of fish, 33 reptiles, 184 species of birds and 43 mammals.

Proceed to Galle and visit the Galle Dutch Fort. (Udawalwe to Galle: Approx. 3-4hrs)
Also, visit the Ambalangoda Mask Museum and factory.
Mask making is a popular tradition in Sri Lanka.
Proceed to your beach stay in Beruwala. En route visit the Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda.

(Galle to Kosgoda: Approx. 1- ½ hrs)

The Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project is operated by a very friendly owner. The place is run by the locals, with international volunteers helping out throughout the year. They aim to protect sea turtle eggs and increase hatching rates while also treating disabled turtles. If you’re lucky, you will get to experience a turtle release, and a hatching if you get there just before 6 PM.
