Sciacca
Fishing, carnivals and spas may seem like a strange mix of characteristics, but these are the things that really sum up the town of Sciacca
From its port the town climbs up cliffs until it reaches a kind of plateau from which the views out to sea are stunning. Dominating the views inland is Monte Cronio, home to steaming, gurgling tufa caves that for so long have drawn visitors. Nearby up and down the coast are a series of wonderful, relatively uncrowded beaches.
Only a relatively narrow stretch of sea divides Sciacca from North Africa and in many respects, the town owes a great deal to the Arabs who sailed across the Mediterranean in 840.
Today, Sciacca’s main industry is fishing and the fleet in Sciacca is amongst the largest in Italy.
Heading down to the port early in the morning is a real spectacle and the restaurants in Sciacca will be serving up the day’s catch just a few hours later.

Excursion
1/2 Day Valley of the Temples & Kolymbetra Gardens with picnic lunch – 5 and a half hours trip
Meet your private driver and embark on a half-day tour to the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as Valley of the Temples where your private guide will be waiting for you. Despite it’s name suggesting a low-lying position, the archaeological site (the largest in the world) actually finds itself on a ridge south of Agrigento. It’s one of the most visited places on the island, as it offers one the most obvious testimony to the presence of ancient Greeks in southern Italy, with temples dating back to the 5th century BC. The main temples that you will visit are: the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Concordia, the Temple of Zeus and the Temple of the Dioscuri. Then, you will visit the Kolymbetra Garden, originally an artificial lake set between sandstone cliffs in a river valley. Now, citrus trees blossom, pomegranates grow wild and large. Wild olives grow as emerald as the surrounding leaves. The lake is now a pool that stands at the heart of the garden as a reminder of the lush past and fertile future of the area. Enjoy an included picnic lunch in this unique location, with arancini, cheeses with home made marmalade, olives and extra virgin olive oil, and fine wines, all in a little corner of paradise among Greek temples. Conclude with a private transfer back to the hotel.

While the island is steeped in the legend of Don Corleone, Cosa Nostra is still a very real phenomenon here – one which the people of Sicily are trying hard to move away from. Visit the Anti-Mafia Museum in Corleone
“From the very moment we contacted the InspireMeTravel team to arrange our honeymoon to India (New Delhi) and Sri Lanka (The Cape Weligama) the service far exceeded our expectations. The professionalism of providing us with a proposal detailing the entire trip from the moment we left the UK, flights, hotels, excursions, internal transfers and the flight back home were amazing. As part of the service we were provided with a local mobile phone and a representative should we need to contact anyone, this was a true first class service. We had a complication due to weather conditions that our sea plane was not able to fly and again, without any interruption to our holiday the InspireMeTravel team took care of everything keeping in contact with us the entire time. We have used them for all our holidays since our honeymoon, they will not disappoint. Well done to Karen and Jill in particular.”
"In my opinion, one of the best wines I’ve ever tasted! Such a stunning hotel with gorgeous views of the vineyards that this hotel is set in and only 15 mins drive to North Cyprus’ harbour, which offers lovely restaurants surrounding it so you can experience more of the tasty North Cypriot cuisine.
The rooms in the hotel are First Class with different themes for each and the only hotel In North Cyprus with its own wine. Definitely recommend."
"If you want to see an opera with the magical atmosphere and feel as if you are actually with the characters then go to the Opera Arena in Verona. Such an amazing experience. Verona also has the Romeo and Juliet museum where you can actually stand in Juliets Courtyard and in her balcony. Definitely a must."
"What a fantastic way to see all the main sites of Rome AND the Vatican. With top historians who have amazing knowledge of this beautiful City. Would definitely recommend it."
"I joined Inspire Me Travel group tour of the famous Mona Lisa’s family home. The landscape features in the background of the famous Mona Lisa painting – how amazing is that! First impressions from the group was “Wow”, the ambience, the scenery, the home was breathtakingly beautiful. We were free to walk around the beautiful gardens and then joined a wine tour, which was very informative. The group were then shown to our outside dining table on the terrace, where we could marvel at the view whilst sampling the wines which accompanied our lunch. There is a shop where you can buy wines and other gifts, what an opportunity to take a bottle of Mona Lisa wine home with you, so you can share this truly special experience with your friends! I would highly recommend booking this tour with Inspire Me Travel. It was so very well organised."
"I joined Inspire Me Travel group tour of the Paris Jazz clubs in February this year. What a truly wonderful experience. Our first night was at Ducs des Lombard, for the truly discerning jazz enthusiast, it did not disappoint. The following evening was at the famous Caveau de la Huchette in the Latin Quarter; grab a seat and listen to the band; watch some amazing dancers and join in. It had a great atmosphere and was super friendly. Inspire Me Travel also organised wonderful restaurants (to suit our budget) close to the jazz venues. I would highly recommend booking with Inspire Me Travel they tick all the boxes!"
