Join us on our Culinary Italy Experience in Sicily, Italy staying at the 5* Zash hotel:

Surrounded by orange and lemon groves, the Zash Boutique Hotel, close to Catania in Sicily with views over Mount Etna, offers stylish rooms and suites, a garden, restaurant and terrace. Guests can explore the local area on the property’s free bikes!

The property is a 3-minute drive from beaches and the Mediterranean Sea. The popular Sicilian town of Taormina is 15.5 miles away.

Day 1

Transfer from Catania Airport to your hotel

You will be transferred by private driver to enjoy a glass of sparkling Prosecco from Etna as an aperitif, then return to your hotel to enjoy a 4-course freehand tasting menu with wine. This romantic dinner takes place at your hotel at their Michelin star restaurant located in the old wine chamber where the wine fermentation originally took place. It is within this setting that Chef Giuseppe Raciti and his team offer creative and yet traditional culinary experiences.

Day 2

1/2 Day Food & Wine of Sicily (with Cooking lesson & Lunch) (5 hrs)

Today is devoted to Sicilian wines and food. You’ll be driven by private vehicle and you will meet Mrs Monica, who has written several cookbooks on Sicilian gastronomy and is an expert on Sicilian cooking. She will conduct a hand-on cooking class, teaching several classic Sicilian dishes, which you will get to enjoy over lunch in the company of Monica in her home. (includes beverages).

Day 3

Lipari Panoramic Tour (Aeolian Islands) incl. Winery Visit, Tasting & Lunch – by private vehicle & jetfoil (10 hrs)

You will meet your private guide and new driver to commence a panoramic tour of the island.
The trip will give you the chance to admire the island in all its beauty. Along the way you will be able to admire the fascinating countryside rich of typical Mediterranean plants, the picturesque houses with their typical Aeolian architecture style. You will stop off at the most spectacular viewpoints of the island.

You will then arrive at Porticello, with the old quarries of pumice, before arriving at Canneto, a small village built among the two mounts Rosa and Pilato.
During your tour, you will enjoy a stop at a magnificent winery facing the opposite side of the island with its vineyards overlooking spectacular views of Salina, Alicudi and Filicudi and the island of Vulcano. This winery produces biologic & organic wines of excellence.

Your guided tour will commence with a walk around the winery & vineyards followed with a tasting of 5
wines ( Bianco Porticello, Bianco Pomice, Rosa Caolino or Ypsilon, Nero Ossidiana and Malvasia delle Lipari with
sesamini ) and lunch with pasta and a big platter with cold meats, cheeses and “pane cunzato” (traditional Sicilian sandwich with tomatoes and tuna).
You will then return to the main town where you will have some free time to wander around before returning to your Hotel.

Day 4

Prominent Winery & 7 Wines Tasting including lunch (3.5 hrs)

Transfer towards a well know winery located on the slopes of Etna. The unique characteristics of the climate and soil is what makes the typicality of the grapes and wines of Mount Etna. Its volcanic soil, very rich in potassium grants a right balance between acids and alcohols.
The Winery currently consists 25 hectares of planted vineyards.
The entire vinification process, from the use of stainless-steel tanks to the refinement of the wine in aged oak
barrels, is done in the natural temperature-controlled winery’s underground cellar.
During your visit you will get a chance to enjoy a guided visit of the winery followed by a tasting of 4 glasses of the current vintages, 3 glasses of the best previous vintages,and a sumptuous Sicilian lunch with all natural fresh produce oozing unforgettable flavours. At the end of your lunch you will be driven back to your hotel.

Day 5

Transfer to Catania apt.
